These doctorates recognize scholarly research or dissertation in certain fields of study which are aligned with a specific profession such as medicine or law.

4.Honorary Doctorates
Honorary doctorates are given by universities to individuals who have made contributions to a specific field or philanthropic efforts by granting a doctoral honor.

If you intend to pursue any doctoral degree, you need to consider the accreditation of the educational institution before you commit yourself to its doctoral degree. Of course, you would not want to invest your money to a waste just to advance your skills and expertise. Bear in mind that a legitimate doctorate degree recognized by board of licensure, accreditation organizations, and potential employers can be granted only by accredited programs.
