Doctorate Degree Programs - Admissions:

To apply for a traditional PhD, in most subjects, student should have a first or upper-second class degree from the UK or the equivalent. Those who have English as their second language will need to take an IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (580) language test. For professional Doctorates, an honours degree at 2:1 with five years of related experience and English language test of IELTS (7.0) or TOEFL (600) will be required. Duration and Process: To accomplish these Doctorate Degree Programs, a student will need a high commitment to research in their given subject and will need to write a thesis. Many students choose to enroll in an MPhil program and then transfer this into a PhD. To transfer an MPhil degree to a PhD, a student generally needs to complete an examination and to provide documentation of their work up until this point and a last transfer seminar. The final part of PhD completes with research thesis submission and viva voce. Most PhD degree programs can be completed between 2-4 years as full-time research study.
